Congress leader Charanjit SIngh Channi was named as the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Channi was appointed as the next Punjab CM a day after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned From The post. The announcemnet regarding the Channi's appointment as the new Punjab CM was made by senior COngress leader Harish Rawat. He tweeted, " It gives me immense pleasure to announce that Sh. #CharanjitSinghChanni has been unanimously elected as the Leader of the Congress Legislature Party of Punjab."
