India will consider themselves ahead in the game ending Day 2 and where the game was in lunch. England were looking to post a big lead, but they couldn't and England's catch drops with one bowler short means Yashasvi Jaiswal is still out on the crease and England didn't get his prized wicket by the end of the Day. Sai Sudharsan got dismissed in the last over of the Day before stumps and he will be disappointed. The England seamers have a tough day incoming and they will have to deliver. Shubman Gill meanwhile has the opportunity to decide the game for his team. 

Out! That came against the run of play. Gus Atkinson came round the wicket angled the ball in, it kept just a tad low and skidded on and Sudharsan got hit flush on his pads. It looked plumb but he went for the DRS, it was in vain as replay showed three reds. England will be slightly happy after the drop catches. Sai Sudharsan lbw b Atkinson 11(29).

Fifty! Finally some runs for Yashasvi Jaiswal. He has been brave in this innings, taking the game on head on and was rewarded with two dropped chances. But he made the most of it and accumulated some quick runs. Gets to his fifty and helps India get a quick start. England playing with three seamers with Chris Woakes injured also makes the thing difficult for them. Jaiswal also gets to his half-century. 

Out! The game is moving fast. Some boundaries with the new ball with Yashasvi Jaiswal taking his chances. A catch went done and Jaiswal kept his feet on the accelerator. As India were stitching a steady opening partnership, KL Rahul nicked one behind off josh Tongue was bowling a probing spell. England have an opening from one side. Rahul c Root b Tongue 7(28).

Out! Harry Brook departs and it is Mohammed Siraj again. Siraj makes his jag-backing ball work again and gets through the gate of Brook. Brook gets some bat on it but it does enough to crash to the stumps. England will be disappointed with their batting after the start they have got and the third innings is going to be crucial given England are a bowler short. Brook b Siraj 53(64).

Harry Brook has been trying to bat through the overs and get boundaries. Josh Tongue is on the other end and he is the last wicket as Chris Woakes will not bat in this innings. Amid this, Brook manages to get his half-century and carry on the fight. 

Good news for the fans. The rain has stopped and there is a restart time for the last session of the Day. Umpires have inspected the outfield and adjudged that the play will restart from 9:55 PM Indian Standard Time (IST). That is moments from now. 

Drizzle started some time back and now it has started to get heavy enough for the Umpires to call the players back into the dressing room. England would not mind the time off as they need to give their bowlers some rest before they take the ball again. They have only a wicket in hand. India on the other hand, want to carry on the momentum they have now. 

Out! Fourth wicket for Prasidh Krishna. Gus Atkinson was looking to push his weight forward and play some drives down the ground. Krishna surprised him with a sharp short ball. The ball raised enough to rush him into the pull and mid-on took a simple catch. England are crumbling here. Atkinson c Akash Deep b Prasidh 11(16).

Out! India take the session in their favour. England were 109/1 in the lunch break and India has done enough in the second session and kept it 106/6 after lunch. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were the star of the show. Krishna opened the window with the dismissal of Zak Crawley and then Siraj ran through the middle order. Krishan ended the session well again removing Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton in the same over. The game is well poised here, just like the series.  Jamie Overton lbw b Prasidh 0(4).

Out! Fifth wicket of this session. India has come back strongly into the game and are looking to restrict England to just a slender lead. Their bowlers will have to return to field in a shorter span than they would have liked to. Prasidh Krishan gets the ball move away enough to lure Jamie Smith for a lazy drive and the ball flies to second slip where KL Rahul takes a good catch. India have a big opening here. Out! Four wickets for India in this session and England have got only 86 runs in exchange of it. Complete contrast to the first session and India are strongly back in the game as England are playing with only nine wickets. It is Mohammed Siraj again who strikes. Swings in a full ball, almost a yorker and hits Jacob Bethell on the pads. Bethell was moving across anticipating the channel ball but Siraj caught him off-guard. Jacob Bethell lbw b Siraj 6(14).

Out! Mohammed Siraj finally gets the fruits of his hardwork as he removes Joe Root. Again uses the nip backer which stays low and skids, catches Root flush on the pads rooted to the crease. Umpire gave it out and even after reviewing, the decision didn't change. India keep chipping away in the ongoing session. Root lbw b Siraj 29(45).

Out! India have been pretty proactive after lunch and they have kept England at bay. The lengths have changed and they are sticking to a set plan. Mohammed Siraj traps Ollie Pope LBW amid this. Hurries Pope to an extent that he goes back and gets hit on the back leg. Umpire gave not out but the DRS showed three reds. India have been pushing for an opening and they got one. Pope lbw b Siraj 22(44).

Out! A bit of pressure was building up post lunch and India have found an opening based on it. Prasidh Krishan bowled into the wicket and made Zak Crawley go for the pull shot. Crawley was looking to get an escape shot and the ball hit him high on the bat. Ravindra Jadeja settled to take a comfortable catch. England will definitely claim that first session on Day 2. First they cleaned up the Indian tail for only 20 runs and then smashed the bowlers to score 109 in just 16 overs. Indian bowlers struggled to get their line and lengths right against Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. Duckett finally fell trying to play a reverse lap while Crawley completed his half-century and is out on the crease. 

Out! Finally India get the breakthrough and it has come through England's live by the sword, die by the sword approach. Ben Duckett goes for the reverse lap almost desperately against Akash Deep and gets a faint nick to the hands of the keeper Dhruv jurel. For the first time in the series, anticipating that the surface is a difficult one and there is lesser value to be set here, England have come out all guns blazing and scored 50 runs in no time. There has been a flurry of boundaries and the Indian bowlers are clearly under pressure. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley have batted to stun the Indian bowlers and they have been successful. 

Out! That's it. England wrap up the tail of India and three out of the last four wickets went to Gus Atkinson who completes a five-wicket haul. He bowls it full and takes it a little away to make Prasidh Krishna nick it behind. Atkinson bowled really well on Day 1 but got only one wicket. He started positively on Day 2 and didn't give much chance to the batters scalping the fifer. England will be happy but their batters have a tough job in hand now. Out! England have been dominant with the ball in hand and they showed once again why. Gus Atkinson displayed impeccable control and movement as he cleaned up Mohammed Siraj.
