The birth anniversary of Lord Balaram is celebrated as Balaram Jayanti. Lord Balaram, an Avatar of Adishesha is the serpent on which Lord Vishnu rests. Balaram also known as Baladeva, Balabhadra and Halayudha is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Balaram Jayanti is celebrated with various rituals and traditions in different parts of the country. Lord Balaram is believed to be the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Balaram Jayanti 2019 will be celebrated on August 21.
