Giant Squid, Ocean’s Most Elusive Creature Spotted For the First Time in US Waters

One of the most mysterious sea creatures, the giant squid has been filmed in U.S. waters. The squid was filmed by researchers in the Gulf of Mexico waters. The researchers are working on an expedition funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The 23-person crew is comprised of marine biologists, oceanographers and scientists who are studying the impacts of light-deprivation on deep sea creatures who live in the "midnight zone."
