New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) Three suspected child lifters were arrested in two separate incidents in the city, police said.
A 24-year-old married woman was arrested on Saturday for allegedly kidnapping a toddler in East Delhi's Pandav Nagar area, the police said.
"The woman, who is married and a resident of Laxmi Nagar, was caught by the locals around 4.30 on Saturday when she was trying to kidnap the child," a senior police officer said.
He said a case of punishment for kidnapping under IPC section 363 has been registered against her.
In a similar incident, two women were arrested on the suspicion of being child lifters in South East Delhi's Sanjay Camp area, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, they received information on Saturday that two women tried to kidnap a child from Sanjay Camp Jhuggi.
The women, residents of NTPC Badarpur shanties, were arrested on Friday for punishment for kidnapping and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention under IPC sections 363 and 34, a senior police officer said, adding that further investigation was on.
