Birbhum (West Bengal) [India], July 16 (ANI): In a significant operation against illegal ganja cultivation, a joint team comprising the Border Security Force (BSF), Forest Department, and Jatrapur Police Station conducted a raid at the residence of Babul Mazumdar, son of Khokan Mazumdar, in Village Nirbhoypur.

"On 16.07.2024 based on specific information, regarding one Indian national Babul Mazumdar s/o Khokan Mazumdar, r/o Village Nirbhoypur under PS Jatrapur preparing Ganja plant nursery at the back side of his house, a joint-ops by BSF along with Forest Dept and PS Jatrapur was planned and carried out," stated an official release.

"During the operation the joint ops party destroyed more than 15000 Ganja saplings by uprooting them. Legal action is being taken by Forest department and PS Jatrapur against land owners," the release said. (ANI)
