Jaipur, Jul 18 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday warned the central government against increasing the number of international flights as the number of coronavirus cases was seeing a surge in many countries.

“According to WHO (World Health Organisation), the delta variant of the corona virus has spread to 111 countries. The number of cases per day in the UK has exceeded 50,000 and cases are increasing rapidly in many countries. It seems that the third wave has arrived,” Gehlot tweeted.

Before increasing the number of flights to and from abroad, the government should take a thoughtful decision after taking feedback to avoid risks, he said, noting the ICMR has also expressed the possibility of a third wave if the restrictions are further relaxed.
