Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 30 (ANI): The Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier Maninder PS Pawar made an important strategic visit to the battalions of Sector Headquarters Malda deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in the Malda and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal.

During this visit, which lasted from July 27 to July 30, Pawar, along with the Deputy Inspector General of Sector Headquarters Malda, took stock of operational preparedness on the border.

At the beginning of this visit, Pawar along with the DIG of Sector Headquarters Malda visited Border Outpost Khutadha, JJ Pur of Adhoc SB-II Battalion BSF.

After that, he visited Border Out Post (BOP) Agra, RK Wadhwa, Kotalpur BOP Harinathpur, BOP Itaghatti, BOP Nangalbhagga and Beldanga and reviewed the night domination patrolling and security policies and interacted with the jawans deployed on duty.

After this, IG BSF visited the area of responsibility of 12th Battalion BSF's border outposts Tilsan, BOP Anuradhapura, BOP Samsher, BOP Kalaibari and BOP Sirsi where the battalion commander apprised him about the area of responsibility of the battalion and the cross border crimes and the strategies for their prevention.

After this, IG BSF visited BOP Mahadipur, BOP Gopalnagar of 70th Battalion BSF. After that along with other BSF officers visited BOP Sowapur and BOP Sowapur TP of 115th Battalion BSF.

After the security review, IG Pawar addressed the jawans and officers posted at Border Outposts Chandnichak, Boyraghat, Maiya Port and BOP Khandua. He appreciated their dedication and hard work in safeguarding the country's borders. The briefing included a detailed description of the security policies implemented in the area to ensure that all personnel are well-informed and equipped to deal with any potential threat.

Earlier, on Monday, in different incidents, alert BSF Troops of BSF South Bengal foiled smuggling attempts at the International border of West Bengal and seized 384 bottles of Phensedyl, being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. (ANI)
