New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) Hopewell Elias Higher Secondary School of Meghalaya and Bampather Benegenabari Higher Secondary School of Assam recorded heavy wins against their opponents in the U-17 boys Subroto Cup international football tournament here on Saturday.
Hopewell Elias Higher Secondary School of Shillong thrashed Sainik School of Andhra Pradesh 16-0 with Wadajied K and Benjamin Diengdoh scoring four and three goals respectively.
In another high scoring encounter in Pool H, Bampather Benegenabari Higher Secondary School of Charaideo, Assam scored 13 goals without reply against Rajkumar College of Gujarat. Adarsh Das scored five goals for the Assam side.
The teams from Bangladesh and Afghanistan, on the other hand, had a mixed bag of results.
Defending champions Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protisthan defeated Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kavaratti Island, Lakshadweep 6-0 while Esteqlal High School, Afghanistan played out a 1-1 draw with Chitkara International School, Chandigarh.
