Balasore (Odisha), May 17 (PTI) A mentally challenged minor girl was allegedly raped in Odisha's Balasore district today, police said.

The incident happened at Sahara village under the jurisdiction of Baliapal police station, the police said.

The 10-year-old victim's mother has lodged a complaint with the Baliapal police station, a police officer said.

The accused is a resident of the same village, he said.

The officer also said that the accused has been absconding.
