Musheer Khan, the brother of Sarfaraz Khan has been banned for three years after his teammate reported of obscene behaviour. According to a report in The Hindu, the youngster is said to have made obscene gestures at teammate Vedanta Gadia during a heated argument between the two during Vijay Merchant Trophy 2018-19 quarter-final in Kadapa. Not only did Gadia lodged an official complaint, but also team manager Vighnesh Kadam reported the incident to Mumbai Cricket Association. The MCA conducted an inquiry before imposing a ban on the Mumbai captain

The cricketing body gave both the Khan and Gadia to present their side of the story before implementing the ban. Their teammates Varun Rao, Saurabh Singh, coach Sandesh Kawle and U-16 chief selector Atul Ranade were also around when the two cricketers spoke about the altercation. The suspension letter was signed by MCA chief executive CS Naik and Unmesh Khanvilkar to Khan.

“The ad-hoc managing committee found you (Khan) guilty of gross misconduct and bringing the name of the association to disrepute. It was also noted that you have failed in your duties as captain of the team by resorting to the ugliest behaviour which has shocked the entire team and the committee,” stated the letter.

The letter even stated that the incident also affected the atmosphere of the team and created an unhealthy atmosphere. The ban, however, has not gone down well with his coach Naushad Khan who slammed the cricketing body and said that he could have been let go off with one warning. Musheer Khan will not be able to play cricket for around three years.
