Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], July 8 (ANI): The Indian Metrological Department has forecast heavy rain for three days till July 12 in Himachal Pradesh. The IMD issued a yellow alert for today and there is a similar alert for tomorrow.
"During the past 24 hours, there has been light to moderate rainfall in the state. Malgaon in Bilaspur has received heavy rainfall, Shimla city recorded 44mm of rainfall, Kasauli, Rampur and Kufri recorded moderate rainfall and others recorded light rainfall," said Sandeep Kumar Sharma, senior scientist, IMD.

He said that heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for July 11 and 12 for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur districts.
He said temperatures is normal today and will be so tomorrow in the central areas of the state and there would be moderate rainfall.

"The rain activity will pick up after July 10. On July 10, 11 and 12, there would be rain across the state."
He further added that rain in July so far is 50 per cent above normal.
"Rain in July is 50 per cent above normal. Rainfall in Sirmaur, Una and Lahaul-Spiti is below normal and in all other districts rainfall is above normal."
He said there is 19 per cent rain deficit for the entire season so far.
In Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, Solan, rain is normal this season and in Hamirpur, Kangra, Lahaul-Spiti, Sirmaur and Solan, rain is below normal, Singh said. (ANI)
