Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Jan 29 (ANI): A primary school in Takki, Ghordi Khas of Udhampur district has been closed for the past two months due to the absence of faculty. The said school was established in 2004 and had two teachers. However, they were not attending to their duties, due to which the institution had to be shut down.Locals say 40-50 children have enrolled in this school, but are unable to learn anything due to the absence of teachers. "No teacher comes here. No one takes note of our problem. Children's future is getting affected," said a local.Another local raised concern about the lack of preparedness of the students ahead of the annual examination in March. "How will they write exams if they don't even know the spellings of their names?" Locals also alleged that the education department is responsible for the closure of the school. "The government claimed to promote education even in remote areas, but on the other hand, the department is unable to make two teachers come to the school," added the locals. (ANI)
