The Rajkumar Hirani magic continues to work wonders! With Sanju, not only has Hirani kept his blockbuster run intact, he has also managed to break Ranbir Kapoor's series of BO disasters in the last couple of years. Looking at the way the movie has been minting money at the box office, Sanju is all set to become Ranbir's highest grossing film till date, the previous record being held by Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (Rs 178 crore). Moreover, with an awesome first-weekend run, Sanju has managed to enter the Rs 100 crore club with ease and has beaten Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai in registering the highest weekend opening collections.

As per the latest update, Ranbir Kapoor's film has managed to gross Rs 120.06 crore over three days, despite not releasing on a holiday. On Sunday itself, Sanju has collected around Rs 46 crore, which is the highest for a Bollywood movie. Salman Khan's Tiger Zinda Hai had managed to collect about Rs 115 crore in its opening weekend, that Sanju has easily eclipsed. However, it fails to beat the mammoth opening weekend collections of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, that has registered the collections of Rs 128 crore in three days.

With no major release in the week ahead and Salman Khan's Race 3 bowing out of theatres, Sanju has a clear week ahead of itself to earn more bucks. The movie has won the hearts of the cine-goers with Hirani's superb direction and the performances of Ranbir, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal. Though there are many who feel that the movie fails as a biopic and is more of an image-cleansing exercise for its controversial subject, Sanjay Dutt.
