Mumbai, January 11: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an urgent advisory for candidates appearing for the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate programs (CUET PG) 2026. Aspiring students have until January 14 to complete their online applications to secure a slot for the upcoming entrance examination. As the deadline nears, the NTA has cautioned applicants against last-minute technical delays and urged them to verify all documentation before final submission.
Final Call for Applications for CUET PG 2026
The registration window for CUET PG 2026 is set to close at 11:50 PM on January 14. This examination serves as the mandatory gateway for admission into postgraduate programs across central, state, deemed, and private universities nationwide.ย Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 Registration Last Day Today.
Candidates are required to register through the official portal at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg. The NTA has emphasised that the fee payment window will also close simultaneously, and no applications will be entertained without the successful processing of the prescribed examination fee.
Advisory on Documentation and Correction
In its latest advisory, the NTA highlighted the importance of uploading clear, legible documents to avoid the rejection of applications. Key requirements include:
- Recent scanned photographs and signatures in the specified format.
- Valid Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) where applicable.
- Correct operational mobile numbers and email addresses for all future correspondence.
Following the close of the registration window, a brief correction facility is expected to open on January 15. However, the agency warned that only specific fields would be editable, and students should not rely on the correction window for major errors in their primary profile.
Examination Schedule and Pattern
While the specific dates for the admit card release are yet to be finalised, the CUET PG 2026 examinations are anticipated to take place in March. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts.
The NTA has maintained the updated exam structure, which focuses on domain-specific knowledge. Candidates can choose up to four test papers, allowing them to apply for diverse courses across participating institutions. The bilingual medium (English and Hindi) will be available for most subjects, except for language-specific papers.ย NIOS Exam Results 2025 Out at results.nios.ac.in: National Institute of Open Schooling Declares Class 10 and 12 Examination Results, Know Steps To Check.
The Shift to Centralised Admissions
The CUET PG was introduced to simplify the admission process for students by providing a single-window opportunity to apply to multiple universities. By eliminating the need for students to appear in several individual entrance tests, the centralised system aims to reduce the financial and logistical burden on candidates from diverse geographic backgrounds.
For the 2026 academic cycle, the number of participating private and deemed universities has seen a significant increase, further cementing CUET PG as the primary standard for postgraduate admissions in India.
