National Investigation Agency (NIA) Inspector General Alok Mittal on October 14 said that majority of accused arrested in ISIS cases confessed that they saw Zakir Naik’s videos during their radicalisation process. “The majority of the 127 arrested people confessed that during their radicalisation process, they saw Zakir Naik’s videos, other videos have also been seen but Zakir Naik’s name came on the top,” said Mittal. “The local party’s leader was in touch with the handler from Afghanistan, Pakistan or Syria, the handler channelised the activity.” A chargesheet has been filed against Naik and his extradition request has been sent to Malaysian government regarding the case. The NIA has been investigating cases of radicalisation across Indian cities since November 2014. A total of 28 cases have been investigated and 127 people have been arrested.
