The New York Police Department is trying to find a couple who lost an engagement ring during a marriage proposal in Times Square. On Friday, a man proposed a woman, but in the excitement dropped the ring and it fell down a grate. The couple panicked and tried to retrieve it themselves, but couldn't. A CCTV video footage released by NYPD on social media shows the couple's reaction on dropping the ring on the grate. As the woman looks the man lays on the pavement trying to look for it, but in vain.

They sought the help of the local police who informed the emergency services. However, New York's emergency services were unable to find the ring immediately and the couple lost hope. The ring had fallen almost 2.5m beneath the grate. After some time the couple left the area while officers continued to look for the ring. On Saturday morning, officers finally managed to pull out the ring from the grate. New York Gets Weekend Without Any Shooting Incident For the First Time in 25 Years.

The NYPD is now in search of the couple to return their diamond ring. The police have also described physical appearances of the couple to the public to find them. NYPD News shared the video of the incident with the caption, "WANTED for dropping his fiancée’s ring in @TimesSquareNYC! She said Yes - but he was so excited that he dropped the ring in a grate. Our @NYPDSpecialops officers rescued it & would like to return it to the happy couple. Help us find them?"
