A female student suffered an electric shock while marking attendance on the biometric machine at a coaching centre amid severe waterlogging in Delhi. Vani Awasthi, a student from Delhi, is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bareilly. Dr Sudeep Saran, who is overseeing her treatment, explained, “Vani was attending her coaching classes in Delhi when the centre experienced flooding. Upon her arrival, she encountered waterlogging at the entrance, where a biometric machine was installed. As she pressed her thumb for attendance and touched the gate, she was electrocuted due to a current in the gate. She immediately fell unconscious and was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was admitted and later regained consciousness.
