The Zimbabwe cricket team will tour South Africa to play three One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 International matches. The ODI fixtures will provide good preparation to the home side ahead of 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Dale Steyn makes a comeback to the ODI Squad after a long absence due to injury. He played his last ODI in October 2016. Captain Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla are ruled out due to injuries. JP Duminy will lead the side in the absence of du Plessis.
The Zimbabwe bowling attack have a good chance to restrict the Proteas to low scores as their batting line up is pretty inexperienced. However, it is their batting which is a big concern as they have a tendency to falter under pressure situations. Captain Hamilton Masakadza could play his 200th ODI in the second match. He will become only the fourth cricketer for Zimbabwe to achieve this feat.
The ODI series will be played from 30 September to 6 October 2018 with the first match taking place at Diamond Oval, Kimberley on 30 September. The second match will be played on 3 October 2018 at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein while The third and last ODI will be played in Boland Park, Paarl on 6 October 2018.
The first match of the three-match T20 Series will take place at Buffalo Park, East London on 9 October, The second at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom on 12 October and The last match will be played in Willowmoore Park, Benoni on 14 October. We have the full squads of both the teams here.
